Drum therapy is an ancient approach that uses rhythm to promote healing and self-expression. Current research is now verifying the therapeutic effects of ancient rhythm techniques. Recent research reviews indicate that drumming accelerates physical healing, boosts the immune system, produces feelings of well-being, a release of emotional trauma, and reintegration of self.
Drumming Reduces Tension, Anxiety, Trauma, Stress, and Chronic Pain!

The truth is,
DRUMMING PRODUCES DEEPER
SELF-AWARENESS BY
INDUCING SYNCHRONOUS BRAIN ACTIVITY.....
Research has demonstrated that the physical transmission of rhythmic energy to the brain synchronizes the two cerebral hemispheres. When the LOGICAL LEFT hemisphere and the INTUITIVE RIGHT hemisphere begin to pulsate in HARMONY, the inner guidance of intuitive knowing can then flow unimpeded into conscious awareness. The ability to access unconscious information through symbols and imagery facilitates psychological integration and a reintegration of self.
Drumming also SYNCHRONIZES the FRONTAL and LOWER areas of the BRAIN, integrating nonverbal information from lower brain structures into the frontal cortex, producing “feelings of insight, understanding, integration, certainty, conviction, and truth, which surpass ordinary understandings and tend to persist long after the experience, often providing foundational insights into one's self.
The reason rhythm is such a powerful tool is that it permeates the entire brain. Vision, for example, is in one part of the brain, speech another, but drumming accesses the whole brain.
The sound of drumming generates dynamic neuronal connections in all parts of the brain even where there is significant damage or impairment such as in attention deficit disorder (ADD).
According to Michael Thaut, director of Colorado State University's Center for Biomedical Research in Music, “Rhythmic cues can help retrain the brain after a stroke or other neurological impairment, as with Parkinson's patients...”
The more connections that can be made within the brain, the more integrated our experiences become.
Drumming Circles Create a Sense of Connectedness With Self and Others
In a society in which traditional family and community-based systems of support have become increasingly fragmented, drumming circles provide a sense of connectedness with others and interpersonal support.
A drum circle provides an opportunity to connect with your own self at a deeper level, and also to connect with a group of other like-minded people in a meaningful way. It is an opportunity to experience connection and healing from one another in a very private and safe way.
Body Painting Is As Old As Time
From the earliest of our anthropological origins, humans have taken to utilizing the resources around them for the purpose of self-decoration and seem to go with the territory of simply being human.
Art tells a story, it is an expression of
our true selves.
As little kids we instinctively want to draw/paint on ourselves, we love how it feels on our skin. We excitedly wait in line at the farmer's market at the face painting booth, and how relaxing it is to have the brush stroke our face and the cold paint on our skin.
We love the magic that happens as an expression of our inner self artistically shines onto our outer self for the world to see and admire. It transforms us into what we really want to be.

GLOW UP DRUMMING CIRCLE
THE FIRST OF IT'S KIND EVER!
I have combined the healing practice of art, body painting, and drumming into a beautiful, fun, safe, healing experience with Glow in the dark body painting meditation and drumming circle life coaching session.
It's time to 'LIGHT UP' your life
with a Glow in the Dark Body Paint Drumming Circle!

IT STARTS WITH A BODY PAINTING MEDIATION
While listening to drumming music, you are able to sit with yourself and artistically express what you are feeling, who you are and/or whom you want to be through body painting your face and arms with glow in the dark paints.

DRUMMING THEN COMMENCES
A small group of people play drums and percussion in a circle. The drumming is improvised and co-created by the participants and organically the sharing of each person's emotional expression through their instrument becomes the touching and unique song of their united strength for one another.
All of this is done under black lights, where you get to see yourself and the others in the group glowing! It is a beautiful experience to be in the dark, free of judgment or risk of others seeing you feel your way through the experience. All that is seen is your wonder and beauty shining for all to see. It is the most fun, freeing and liberating experience! This is an experience that is rich in symbolism, science-based benefits, and just what a person needs in these uncertain times.
"When Life Gets Dark.....GLOW!"

YOUR SESSION ENDS WITH A CLOSING MEDITATION
Laying on yoga mats, you listen to tranquil music, feeling mists of essential oil water lightly on your face and allow yourself to truly feel into the whole experience and time to be with your own self. To leave behind anything that needs to be left, and hold in your heart your new found inner strength.
"GLOW" WITH THE FLOW!
Group Glow Up drumming alleviates self-consciousness, isolation, and alienation.
We can learn “to flow” with the rhythms of life by simply learning to feel the beat, pulse, or groove while drumming. By learning to flow with the rhythms and beats of those around you it creates the ability to listen better, to complement rather than compete, and to become unified with those you come into contact with. It is to be part of a unified voice, while still maintaining your individuality.
It is a way of bringing the essential self into sync helping us feel connected rather than isolated and estranged. This is needed more than ever in a time of stress and isolation covid has created.
Something very magical happens when you methodically take the time to express yourself through art, physically take the time to care for yourself in this way and then let go of all worries and comparisons as the lights go out. You can freely feel out the music, the instrument and feel out the environment losing all worries of "messing" up because all anyone can see is your bright beautiful artwork. You have the freedom of exploration that is rarely given in the day to day life!
